Escritor e político, Sir Harold George Nicolson (1886-1968) era filho de nobre diplomata e nasceu em Teerã. Atuou no serviço diplomático inglês de 1909 a 1929. Na década de 1930, já como membro do parlamento, foi um dos primeiros entre seus pares a denunciar o perigo representado pelo avanço do fascismo na Europa.

The Harold Nicolson Papers consists of papers of the English diplomat, journalist, and biographer Harold Nicolson (1886-1968). These papers primarily contain correspondence received by Nicolson, but there is also a large series of letters written by Nicolson to Richard Rumbold, as well as a few to others.
Abstract. Sir Harold Nicolson was seen during his lifetime, and has been regarded since his death, as a gifted authority on diplomacy. He was also the twentieth-century heir to a tradition of Western diplomatic theorists who espoused diplomatic values deriving from ancient Greek and Roman political theory and history.
