Alba Iulia (Romanian pronunciation: [ˌalba ˈjuli.a] ⓘ; German: Karlsburg or Carlsburg, formerly Weißenburg; Hungarian: Gyulafehérvár; Latin: Apulum) is a city that serves as the seat of Alba County in the west-central part of Romania.
An Episcopal citadel and an important political, military and cultural center, Alba Iulia reached its peak between 1542-1690, serving as the capital of the independent Principality of Transylvania and the residence of the Transylvanian princes.

24 de jun. de 2018 · Em Alba Iulia, queríamos visitar Alba Carolina, a maior cidadela de toda a Roménia. Assim que entrámos, apercebemo-nos que facilmente se passa um dia inteiro por lá. Como tínhamos de chegar a Cluj-Napoca nesse mesmo dia, acabámos por ficar pouco tempo.
