22 de out. de 2020 · It was founded in December 2017 to serve as a source of information for all collectors on the history, uniforms, and insignia of the former East German military forces, the “Nationale Volksarmee”, and the other security organs of the former German Democratic Republic.
Though the NVA featured a German appearance – including uniforms and ceremonies patterned after older German military traditions – its doctrine and structure showed the strong influence of the Soviet Armed Forces.

In May 1965 there were six members of the NVA who had the right to wear the Medal for Taking Part In the Struggles of the German Working Class between 1918 and 1923. The Medal for Fighters against Fascism 1933 to 1945 was worn by 158 East German soldiers at that time.
With the reunification of Germany in 1990, the East Germany military uniform became obsolete, replaced by the unified German armed forces' uniform. Yet, it continues to be a sought-after collector's item and a symbol of the country's complex history.

20 de mai. de 2021 · Interestingly the East German military forces retained a distinctly Wehrmacht style uniform, but at first wore a Soviet SSh-40, making for a rather eclectic, and almost anachronistic soldier.
