A Warning About Glassdoor. EDIT: A little info from Glassdoor that I learned as part of my last job in marketing: The most recent review left, regardless of its score, is weighted at 80%. This is why after a negative review is left, a company will routinely leave an onslaught of positive reviews to counterweight the negative one.
I never had this problem as recent as 3+/- years ago with Glassdoor (or Indeed for that matter) but recently, I've had to hide my resume as I was getting inundated with texts and calls from illegitimate jobs. Basically, the same old - download this app for an interview or follow this link. We're paying $50/hr or $35/hr or simple work from home ...
Glassdoor says on their site, "Your trust is our top concern, so companies can't alter or remove reviews." Probably technically true, but they apparently can have Glassdoor remove the reviews for them. I think ex-employees review reports are treated differently than company review reports.
My biggest problem with Glassdoor was that massive number of duplicate postings. I could search for a job like "project manager" and it would show 10 pages worth of jobs, but the jobs that appeared on page 2 would have a lot of the same that appeared on page 1. Those that appeared on page 3 would also appear on page 1 or 2, etc.
30 de jul. de 2018 · Yes, along with industry-specific job boards this is how most job postings are distributed. I found my job through indeed, which directed me to the posting on linkedin. Both of these are good platforms for job hunting. I've always used those sites for reviews about the companies but I haven't actually used it to apply for a job with those ...
It's better than nothing, but be aware of small sample sizes. pretty reliable, but a lot of companies add fake reviews OR delete bad reviews. you can usually figure out if a company has deleted reviews because the number of total reviews does not match the number of reviews you can see.
12 de nov. de 2020 · Bellow method works for me perfectly even without a Glassdoor account. For those who have uBlock Origin: select "Click to disable JavaScript button on this site" button > select "Refresh" button Else: download uBlock Origin (it's free and useful) > proceed method 1.
9 de mar. de 2017 · Yesterday night, I was browsing glassdoor and I saw the same job posted but it was under a different source (same position, same company when you click on the job post, but in the list the postion was under some other jobboard). Fast forward to this morning, the job again was posted only this time, the source was from the company itself.
25 de mai. de 2022 · I think these popular job sites like Indeed, Glassdoor, and ZipRecruiter can be helpful, but they may not always have the best selection for entry-level or junior web dev positions. Consider checking out specialized platforms like AngelList, GitHub Jobs, or Stack Overflow Jobs, which often cater more specifically to tech roles and may have opportunities better suited to your experience level.
18 de nov. de 2017 · Glassdoor is a Scam and a Sham. I have had good jobs and bad jobs in my life. I have posted both positive and negative reviews on Glassdoor, for companies that I've worked with. Imagine my shock when I saw that Glassdoor deleted all of the ones on my account for no reason. Some of them had been online for years.
