X-Men: First Class comes to Region A-locked US Blu-ray complete with a 1080p High Definition video presentation in the movie’s original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.4:1 widescreen. Summer blockbuster material this is, and everybody was expecting it to look amazing and, indeed, it does. But it isn't quite perfect.

Showcasing the powers of the young mutants, the 3D display entertained onlookers who saw the Roosevelt Hotel freeze, melt, become covered in fur and scales, withstand a tornado and mutate into the shape of the X-Men symbol - all without the use of 3D glasses. The Sony XR A80J has a peak brightness of 640 nits at 1% window, 670 nits at 2% and 640 nits at 5% with a drop-down to 591 nits on the industry-standard 10% window size. With a 100% window size the brightness is 135 nits.

This is often an area where AV receivers struggle but in the past we have been impressed by the musicality of models made by Marantz and the SR7009 was no exception. It handled two-channel music extremely well, with the 'new' Pink Floyd album The Endless River being beautifully reproduced by the SR7009.
20 de nov. de 2020 · The Io is as simple as they come but sounds bigger and better than its 30W suggests. Very natural and, above all, so darn musical. Rhythm and detail are first class and it’s a very analogue sound, and that’s a good thing. The Brio - to my ears - is better, but there’s not much in it.
