Magdalen College will teach out the remainder of the 2023-2024 academic year and has already begun to work with a variety of institutions—including other colleges, our academic accreditation agency (NECHE), and the New Hampshire Department of Education—to ensure a smooth pathway for students to complete their degrees.
Magdalen College offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Liberal Studies with majors in Literature, Philosophy, History, and Theology. In addition to their major, students may choose to concentrate in the fine arts.
Through the Magdalen College of the Liberal Arts curriculum students engage in the close reading and discussion of the classic great books, both within the curriculum’s core and in its four majors.
It was recognized as a Catholic college by the Diocese of Manchester [6] and recommended by the Cardinal Newman Society. Magdalen College of the Liberal Arts, a small Catholic institution in New Hampshire, will close at the end of the academic year due to low enrollment and financial challenges, WMUR 9 reported. The local ABC affiliate reported that Magdalen currently enrolls about 60 students.
