The first season of Drag Race Brasil was first teased on August 8, 2022 when World of Wonder published a casting call for Brazilian drag artists via social media accounts. Casting opened on August 8, 2022, with deadline of August 26 of that same year. Applicants were asked to submit an audition tape on August 31, with deadline of September 23, 2022.
On December 12, 2022, the series was confirmed, along with the announcement that it would air on MTV and Paramount+ in Brazil.
The series' logo was revealed on June 6, 2023, along with the announcement of a special warm-up event for the series that happened on June 11, 2023 during São Paulo's Pride Parade.
Winner of Queen of the Universe Season 1, Grag Queen, was unveiled as the series' host on July 12, 2023. Furthermore, the premiere date of August 30, 2023 and main judges, comedienne Bruna Braga and stylist Dudu Bertholini, were revealed the following week.
On August 2, 2023, the twelve contestants competing for the title of Brasil's First Drag Superstar were announced. The promo had the colors of Brazil's flag as its theme.
Organzza was crowned Brasil's First Drag Superstar at the finale, receiving a year worth of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, a crown and scepter from Amped Accessories and a cash prize of R$150,000. Aquarela received the title of Miss Congeniality as voted by fellow castmates.

•For the promo, contestants were oriented to use the colors of Brazil's flag (Green, Yellow, Blue, and White), having free creative choice regarding how to do their looks. Black was also a color they could include in their outfits.
•The promotional material was filmed on April 23, 2023, Rubi Ocean's birthday.
•Each episode took two days to film.
•Much like Drag Race México and Drag Race Germany, the series was filmed in Colombia, at Paramount's Television International Studios (known simply as TIS Productions).
