Twyning is tucked away just inside Gloucestershire to the north of Tewkesbury. As its Old English name suggests, it is a ‘place between the rivers’, in this case, the Avon and Severn. In two parts, Church End, a conservation area, is the original village which features an 11th century church dedicated to St Mary Magdalene.
