Timothy Michael Tymkovich (born November 2, 1956) is an American lawyer who has served as a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit since 2003; serving as chief judge from 2015 to 2022.
Timothy M. Tymkovich is a federal judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. He joined the court in 2003 after being nominated by President George W. Bush. He was elevated to chief judge in October 2015.
Judge Tymkovich, of Denver, Colorado, was nominated to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals by President George W. Bush, and confirmed in April 2003. On October 1, 2015 he became Chief Circuit Judge and held this position until October 2022.
Bio: Timothy Tymkovich is a native third-generation Coloradan. He is a 1979 graduate of The Colorado College, and a 1982 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. After graduation, he clerked for Chief Justice William Erickson of the Colorado Supreme Court.
