  3. In 1861, Ralph had assumed by Royal licence the surname of Milbanke in lieu of Noel. The 2nd Earl of Lovelace had no sons and was succeeded in the barony of Wentworth by his only child, Ada King-Milbanke, 14th Baroness Wentworth. His other titles passed to his half-brother Lionel (1865–1929), the 3rd Earl.
