It is a member institution of the federal University of London. Today, Queen Mary has six campuses across East and Central London in Mile End, Whitechapel, Charterhouse Square, Ilford, Lincoln's Inn Fields and West Smithfield, as well as an international presence in China, France, Greece and Malta.

Medicine and dentistry students are largely based at Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square, with some teaching at our West Smithfield and Mile End campuses.
The history of Queen Mary University of London lies in the mergers, over the years, of four older colleges: Queen Mary College, Westfield College, St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College and the London Hospital Medical College.
