Alexander Mahé Owens Drysdale MNZM (born 19 November 1978) is a retired New Zealand rower. Drysdale is a two-time Olympic champion and a five-time world champion in the single sculls. He is a seven-time New Zealand national champion and five-time recipient of New Zealand Sportsman of the Year.
Mahé is a two-time Olympic Champion in 2012 and 2016 in the single scull. He won the World Championship five times. He made New Zealand proud as he won his gold medals on the global stage. He had the honour of being Flag Bearer and Team Captain of the New Zealand Olympic Team at the 2008 Games.
A five-time world champion and Olympic gold medallist in 2012, single sculls specialist Mahé Drysdale went on to retain his Olympic crown at the age of 37, on the Rio 2016 rowing lake. And he has no intention of stopping there!
