Ion Gheorghe Iosif Maurer (23 September 1902 – 8 February 2000) was a Romanian communist politician and lawyer, and the 49th Prime Minister of Romania. He is the longest serving Prime Minister in the history of Romania (having served for 12 years and 343 days).

Ion Gheorghe Maurer (* 23. September 1902 in Bukarest ; † 8. Februar 2000 ebenda) war ein rumänischer Jurist und kommunistischer Politiker, der der deutschen Minderheit des Landes angehörte.
Ion Gheorghe Maurer (yôn gāôr´gā), 1902–2000, Romanian statesman. A lawyer, he defended Romanian Communists in the 1930s and later became (1945) a member of the central committee of the Communist party.
As a member of the Permanent Presidium and President of the Council of Minsiters, in the early 1960s Maurer was involved in the decision making process leading to Romania's approch towards the EEC and the West.
