  2. Hertford College (/ ˈ h ɑːr t f ər d / HART-fərd), previously known as Magdalen Hall, is a constituent college of the University of Oxford in England. It is located on Catte Street in the centre of Oxford, directly opposite the main gate to the Bodleian Library .

  7. The Simpkin Dynasty. Hertford timeline. 1282. Hart Hall is established. Sometime in the 1280s, Elias de Hertford established Hart Hall. His buildings stood on the site where the oldest parts of the current college are situated - the Old Hall and the north east corner of the Old Buildings Quadrangle.
