Dorothy Norman (née Stecker; 28 March 1905 – 12 April 1997) was an American photographer, writer, editor, arts patron and advocate for social change.

BIOGRAPHY. 1905-1997. Dorothy Norman interacted with artists and engaged in the arts on many levels. She wrote a New York Times column and edited and wrote several books, was mentored by Alfred Stieglitz (who became her lover) and maintained a well-respected artists’ salon. By day, Norman managed Stieglitz’s renowned gallery, An American Place.
