25 de ago. de 2023 · On June 28, 2005, Mr. Luttrell's brother, Marcus Luttrell, and three of his SEAL team members were ambushed by Taliban fighters while on a mission in Afghanistan. All three of Mr. Marcus Luttrell's fellow SEALs were killed, and he was hit by bullets and shrapnel and had his back broken.
Luttrell's twin brother Morgan Luttrell is also a former Navy SEAL; he left the Navy with the rank of lieutenant. Morgan served as advisor to Energy Secretary Rick Perry during the Donald Trump administration. On November 8, 2022, Morgan was elected to represent Texas's 8th congressional district.

Born and raised in Texas, Luttrell and his twin brother, Morgan, attended Sam Houston State University. They began training for the SEALs at age 14 with former United States Army soldier, Billy Shelton, who lived nearby.
