Bumblebee is a fictional robot character appearing in the many continuities in the Transformers franchise. The character is a member of the Autobots, a group of sentient, self-configuring, modular extraterrestrial robotic lifeforms .
Bumblebee was a young Autobot scout, who fought during the Cybertronian War alongside his "brother in arms", Hot Rod. At some point, Bumblebee went through a rebellious phase, which Optimus would recall. After the AllSpark left Cybertron, the Autobots left their home to search for it.

Set in 1987, Autobot Bumblebee is sent to Earth but is injured and is found and helped by a teenage girl named Charlie. The film premiered on December 3, 2018, at the Sony Centerin Berlin, and was released in the United States on December 21, by Paramount Pictures.
