Sonny is the titular tritagonist of the 2004 movie, I, Robot. He was created by Alfred Lanning and becomes an ally of Susan Calvin and Del Spooner after the death of his creator. Sonny was one of the main characters in the film, but does not appear in any works by Isaac Asimov.
Susan Calvin (Bridget Moynahan) extermine Sonny com nanitas para que a possibilidade de um robô capaz de violar as Leis da Robótica não coloque em risco as vendas do NS-5. Porém, Calvin é incapaz de exterminar Sonny, que recebeu de seu pai uma personalidade própria e a capacidade de sonhar.
