They met in Jerusalem while Derek was visiting Israel with friends. Together, a new phase of ministry emerged with the launch of a daily radio programme titled Today with Derek Prince.

29 de dez. de 1998 · Ruth Prince married her husband Derek following the passing of his first wife Lydia Christiensen. Born Myrtle Elaine Hemmingson she was the eighth of ten children born to Einer Helene Hemmingson and Gladys Marie Honeywell.
After the service, Ruth was buried in Jerusalem. Memorial services were held in London, England, on 6 February and in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, on 13 February 1999. During their 20 years of marriage, Ruth faithfully served Derek in every way she could.
