Full Metal Jacket is a 1987 war drama film directed and produced by Stanley Kubrick, who also cowrote the screenplay with Michael Herr and Gustav Hasford. The film is based on Hasford's 1979 novel The Short-Timers and stars Matthew Modine, R. Lee Ermey, Vincent D'Onofrio and Adam Baldwin .

In this analysis, I will explain the juxtaposition of the "Born To Kill" slogan on the Joker's helmet and the Peace button over his heart.
The way he sports that iconic “Born to Kill” helmet while wearing a peace symbol on his jacket perfectly encapsulates the film’s exploration of the duality of war and human nature. Moving on to the war in Vietnam, Kubrick doesn’t hold back in portraying the chaos, absurdity, and brutality of combat.
