C1.10 - Galvanised & Chromadek® coil - Handling and protection during storage.
At ArcelorMittal South Africa’s Vanderbijlpark paint line, laboratory personnel conduct exhaustive tests on every coil of Chromadek ® to ensure its formability and durability. The T-bend test is used to determine the resistance of the paint to cracking and/or detachment from the substrate.
ArcelorMittal South Africa delivers Chromadek® in coils and ensures that material reaches the profiler’s premises in prime condition. Any damage to the material sustained during profiling, transport or storage, erection or subsequent to erection, is not covered by the warranty.
Chromadek® also has excellent durability properties obtained by tensioning the Chromadek® coil during the painting process. Durability as mentioned is measured according to its capability to maintain hardness, gloss, colour, and film integrity properties.
