Brocket Hall is a neo-classical country house set in a large park at the western side of the urban area of Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire, England. The estate is equipped with two golf courses and seven smaller listed buildings, apart from the main house.
Brocket Hall History. 1239. The earliest evidence of a house dates back to 1239, it was originally called ‘Watershyppes’ and owned by a Simon Fitz Ade. 1440. The house was rebuilt and renamed, this is when the “Brockets”, originally from Yorkshire, established themselves as one of Hertfordshire’s leading families.

Working around its elegant symmetry, landscaper Richard Woods, heavily influenced by Capability Brown’s ideas, redirected the River Lea, built bridges, broadened the ornamental lake and planted specimen trees.
The Brocket Hall Estate is situated in beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, just 22 miles from the centre of London and conveniently placed for all international airports. Built in 1760, Brocket Hall has been home to two British Prime Ministers and was a favourite country retreat of royalty.
