19 de ago. de 2013 · Harriet Westbrook was the first wife of the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, whom she eloped with at 16. She was abandoned by him for his lover Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, and died in mysterious circumstances in 1816, while pregnant with an unknown father's child.

9 de nov. de 2016 · The body of Shelley’s wife, Harriet, had been found floating in the Serpentine. It appeared that she, too, had killed herself. Harriet had been living at her father John Westbrook’s house in Chapel Street, Mayfair, ever since Shelley abandoned her, pregnant, in the summer of 1814.
