Sergeant T.J. Soon after the start of the episode Hooker called his squad to 'Attention!' and the sound of army boots coming together on a hard parade ground could be heard. However when a wide shot of the group was shown they were wearing (male and female) civilian shoes and standing on soft grass.
At the deli shooting scene when the patrol car pulls up, you can see a real LAPD cop directing traffic around the shooting scene with cones.
Rookie Romano wears monogrammed speedos. When the other recruits make fun of him for it, he tells them they are a bunch of "no style, no class, sartorial misfits."
Romano and Granger act like sexist pigs, and get put in their place by a strong woman (no canceling needed). When Officer Kelly Sanders is doing drills, Romano and Granger come over and leer at her backside. He says to her, "Romano's the name love, but you can call me Vince." Sanders replies, "How 'bout if I call you a cab? Buzz off, Romano."
Hooker is telling a story about a rookie of Italian decent, who reminds him of Romano. Officer McNeil makes a joke about how they all look alike. He is, in fact making fun of racists, who say stupid things about how people of color all look alike. Everyone at the table gets the joke, and no one was cancelled, or offended. The fact that it aired on TV, helps to get the message out that racism is stupid, and so are the people who believe in such idiocies.
Hooker is famous for wrecking cars. In this episode, the tally begins at #1.
