Following the cosmic upheavals of the Rebirth period, the history of Superboy was revised. While these events may still have taken place, it likely happened later than originally depicted. He eventually found that he was followed to the surface by the girl that had been inside Pen 51.
Superboy-Prime is the Kal-El of Earth-Prime. He is a jaded reflection of Superman, coming from a world where superheroes only existed as fiction; except for him. Growing up idolizing the Silver Age, he became disillusioned with the DC Universe as New Earth and Earth 0 become darker.

Superboy-Prime (Clark Kent, born Kal-El), also known as Superman-Prime or simply Prime, is a DC Comics superhero turned supervillain and an alternate version of Superman.
On the way to ignite this universal rebirth, Superboy-Prime killed thirty-two Green Lanterns. While battling the Corps, Kal-L and Kal-El forced Superboy-Prime through Krypton's red sun to depower the vastly powerful youth to levels where the elder Supermen could handle him directly.
When rebirth happened i wasn't sure we would see him again but to find out he was somewhere in a magic prison wasn't the best way to bring him back. But I do love that he came back. The death metal secret origin issue was a great superboy prime comic. I could talk about him all day!

28 de dez. de 2020 · Amazingly, Superboy-Prime's sacrifice inadvertently allowed him to reboot and rewrite his own origin, seeing him reading his own comic back on Earth-Prime. Not only that, but his girlfriend Laurie is alive and well, and he also now has a new dog.
