William de Burgh (English: / d ˈ b ɜːr /; d’-BER; French pronunciation:; Latin: de Burgo; c. 1160 –winter 1205/06) was the founder of the House of Burgh (later surnamed Burke or Bourke) in Ireland and elder brother of Hubert de Burgh, 1st Earl of Kent and Geoffrey de Burgh, Bishop of Ely.

Burgh, William de (a.1164–1206), magnate, brother of Hubert de Burgh, earl of Kent and justiciar of England, was one of the new wave of Anglo-Normans to come to Ireland with John (qv), lord of Ireland, in 1185. In some earlier biographies he is confused with William fitz Audelin (qv), the king's agent in Ireland
