Paulo I ( São Petersburgo, 1 de outubro de 1754 – São Petersburgo, 23 de março de 1801) foi o Imperador da Rússia de 1796 até ao seu assassinato. Era o único filho do imperador Pedro III e da imperatriz Catarina II. Ele permaneceu na sombra de sua mãe até finalmente ascender ao trono.

The son of Grand Duke Paul Petrovich, later Paul I, Alexander succeeded to the throne after his father was murdered. He ruled Russia during the chaotic period of the Napoleonic Wars . As prince and during the early years of his reign, Alexander often used liberal rhetoric, but continued Russia's absolutist policies in practice.
