Ma Ying-jeou (Chinese: 馬英九; born 13 July 1950) is a Taiwanese politician who served as the 6th president of the Republic of China from 2008 to 2016. Previously, he served as the 14th justice minister from 1993 to 1996 and mayor of Taipei from 1998 to 2006.

Ma Ying-jeou (en chinois : 馬英九, pinyin : Mǎ Yīngjiǔ) est un homme d'État taïwanais, né le 13 juillet 1950 à Hong Kong. Il a été président de la république de Chine du 20 mai 2008 au 20 mai 2016 [2]. Ayant remporté l'élection présidentielle du 22 mars 2008 [3], il a succédé au président Chen Shui-bian.

Presidential elections were held in Taiwan on 22 March 2008. [1] [2] Kuomintang (KMT) nominee Ma Ying-jeou won with 58% of the vote, ending eight years of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) rule.
