He signed the Formula of Concord of 1577 and the Book of Concord of 1580. In 1592, Frederick was heir apparent to the dukedom of Württemberg when he visited Windsor and other English cities. He desired to become a Knight of the Garter and repeatedly solicited Queen Elizabeth for the honor.

Frederico I de Württemberg (19 de agosto de 1557 - 29 de janeiro de 1608) foi o filho do duque Jorge I de Württemberg-Mömpelgard e da sua esposa, a condessa Bárbara de Hesse, filha do conde Filipe I de Hesse.
Biografia. Nascido em Trzebiatów, na Polónia, Frederico era o filho mais velho de Frederico II Eugénio, Duque de Württemberg e da marquesa Frederica de Brandemburgo-Schwedt.
Frederick was the son of Frederick II, duke of Swabia, and Judith, daughter of Henry IX, duke of Bavaria, of the rival dynasty of the Welfs. After succeeding his father as duke of Swabia, Frederick was elected German king on March 4, 1152, in Frankfurt, succeeding his uncle, Emperor Conrad III.
