The oldest portion of this architecturally eclectic house was built in 1866, with Second Empire styling. The original owner was Chester W. Kingsley, a local politician, and the builder was Stephen Stiles.

Ron & Linda Evans who restored the property say the home was built in 1778 by the Crary's and expanded in 1835 by the Kingsleys. The 1970's State historic survey categorized the house as being built in the 1820's.
