A violação da simetria CP, ou violação CP, é uma das três condições necessárias para explicar a assimetria matéria-antimatéria observada no Universo. É o caso descoberto do Káon neutro (K) um sistema em que as partículas se misturam com as próprias antipartículas.
LHCb is a specialized b-physics experiment, designed primarily to measure the parameters of CP violation in the interactions of b-hadrons (heavy particles containing a bottom quark). Such studies can help to explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe.
