Hendrik Willem Mesdag (Groninga, 23 de fevereiro de 1831 – Haia, 10 de julho de 1915) foi um pintor marítimo neerlandês. [1] Vida. Estudou em Bruxelas com Willem Roelofs e em 1868 mudou-se para Haia para pintar o mar.
Hendrik Willem Mesdag (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦɛndrɪk ˈʋɪləm ˈmɛzdɑx]; 23 February 1831 – 10 July 1915) was a Dutch marine painter.
In 1870 he made his international breakthrough, winning a medal at the Paris Salon. His most spectacular work, the Panorama, was completed in 1881. This circular canvas, 14 metres high and 120 metres in circumference, can be seen in The Hague near Museum Mesdag.
