Etelstano (Æthelstan ou Æþelstan ou Æðelstān, significando "pedra nobre" em inglês antigo) (c. 893/895 – 27 de outubro de 939) foi o rei de Wessex de 924 até 927, quando conquistou todo o território inglês, passando a reinar como rei dos ingleses até sua morte.
Æthelstan was one of the most pious West Saxon kings, and was known for collecting relics and founding churches. His household was the centre of English learning during his reign, and it laid the foundation for the Benedictine monastic reform later in the century.

On the death of his father, Edward the Elder, in 924, Athelstan was elected king of Wessex and Mercia, where he had been brought up by his aunt, Aethelflaed, Lady of the Mercians.
