Wu Peifu (also spelled Wu P'ei-fu) (Chinese: 吳佩孚; April 22, 1874 – December 4, 1939) was a Chinese warlord and major figure in the Warlord Era in China from 1916 to 1927.

Wu Peifu was a Chinese warlord who dominated Beijing from 1917 to 1924. The son of a tradesman, Wu joined the famous Beiyang Army of Yuan Shikai, the leading general of the Qing dynasty (1644–1911/12) and the first president of the Republic of China, and rapidly rose to high position.

The war led to the defeat of the Fengtian clique and the expulsion of its leader, Zhang Zuolin, from the coalition Zhili-Fengtian government in Beijing. Wu Peifu was credited as the strategist behind Zhili's victory.
