Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles (No mar, frente a Port Morant, Jamaica, 5 de julho de 1781 [1] – Baret, Inglaterra, 5 de julho de 1826) [2] foi um estadista britânico famoso por ter fundado Singapura. Ele serviu como vice-governador de Java (1811-1815) e governador geral de Bencoolen (1817-1822).
Sir Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles FRS FRAS (5 July 1781 – 5 July 1826) was a British colonial official who served as the governor of the Dutch East Indies between 1811 and 1816 and lieutenant-governor of Bencoolen between 1818 and 1824.
