Robert Baldwin was a Canadian lawyer and politician who led the first responsible government ministry in the Province of Canada. He introduced reforms in municipal government, legal system, jury system, and Rebellion Losses Bill, and feuded with the Orange Order.
Robert Baldwin (1804-1858) was a leader of the Reform party in the Province of Canada, which advocated for responsible government and other reforms. He served as attorney general and premier with Louis-Hippolyte LaFontaine, but resigned in 1851 over the Clergy Reserves issue.
