Aung San Suu Kyi, é uma ativista e política birmanesa, vencedora do Prémio Nobel da Paz em 1991 e secretária-geral da Liga Nacional pela Democracia (LND). Suu Kyi é a terceira dos filhos de Aung San, considerado o pai da Birmânia moderna (atual Mianmar).
Aung San Suu Kyi, whose party had won the November 2020 Myanmar general election, was arrested on 1 February 2021 following a coup d'état that returned the Tatmadaw (Myanmar Armed Forces) to power and sparked protests across the country.

The Burmese Peace Prize Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi is the daughter of the legendary liberation movement leader Aung San. Following studies abroad, she returned home in 1988. From then on, she led the opposition to the military junta that had ruled Burma since 1962.
