Details. A restored colorized version of the black and white Soviet fantasy film. The story and characters are drawn from Slavic folklore (fairy tales), particularly, evil wizard Kashchey (Kaschey), who is the main antagonist in the movie.
A fairy tale beginning with a barbaric attack by black knights on an idyllic Russian village. A mushroom man guides the hero Nikita into the realm of the allegedly immortal bone-man Kashchey, who has abducted the beautiful Mariya, Nikita’s fiancée.
