Federal judicial service Delgado-Colón is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. She was nominated by President George W. Delgado-Colon graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with her bachelor's degree in 1977 and later graduated from Catholic University of Puerto Rico with her J.D.degree in 1980.

On the recommendation of the Puerto Rican at-large Congressional delegation, Delgado-Colon was nominated by George W. Bush on October 25, 2005, to a seat vacated when Salvador Casellas assumed senior status. Delgado-Colon was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 6, 2006, on unanimous consent of the Senate and received commission on March 17, 2006.She became the chief judge of the court on April 14, 2011, and served in this position until 2018.

Delgado-Colon began her judicial career as a federal magistrate judge for the District of Puerto Rico. Delgado-Colon was appointed to an eight-year term in 1993 and was re-appointed to another term in 2001. She served in that role until becoming an Article III judge in 2006.
