Sir Sidney Poitier KBE (Miami, 20 de fevereiro de 1927 — Los Angeles, 6 de janeiro de 2022) foi um ator, diretor, autor e diplomata bahamense estadunidense. [1] Poitier cresceu em Cat Island, nas Bahamas. Em 1964, foi agraciado tanto com o Oscar [2] quanto com o Globo de Ouro de melhor ator pelo seu desempenho em Lilies of the Field.
Sidney Poitier KBE (/ ˈ p w ɑː t j eɪ / PWAH-tyay; February 20, 1927 – January 6, 2022) was a Bahamian–American actor, film director, and diplomat. In 1964, he was the first Black actor and first Bahamian to win the Academy Award for Best Actor.
