  3. HENRY BOURCHIER, second Earl of Essex (d. 1539), was the son of William Bourchier and the grandson of Henry Bourchier, first earl. His mother was Anne Woodville, sister of the queen of Edward IV [Elizabeth Woodville]. He succeeded his grandfather in 1483. He was a member of the privy council of Henry VII.

  5. Anne Bourchier, Baroness Bourchier was the daughter of Henry Bourchier, 2nd Earl of Essex. 1 She married William Parr, 1st Marquess of Northampton, son of Sir Thomas Parr and Maud Green, on 9 February 1526/27. 2 She died on 28 January 1570/71, without legitimate issue, and in obscurity. 2

  6. Career. Bourchier was a member of Henry VII's privy council. He was present at the Siege of Boulogne in 1492 and five years later led a detachment against the rebels at Blackheath. When Henry VIII became king, he was made captain of the new bodyguard.
