Richard Grenville-Temple, 2nd Earl Temple, KG, PC (26 September 1711 – 12 September 1779) was a British politician and peer who served as Lord Privy Seal from 1757 to 1761.

Richard Grenville-Temple, 2nd Earl Temple. (1711-1779), Statesman. Mid-Georgian Portraits Catalogue Entry. Sitter in 16 portraits. Grenville-Temple entered Parliament as an MP in 1734. In 1754, his sister Hester married William Pitt, and from that time, Temple's career was linked with that of his brother-in-law.
Overall the first half of the album consists mostly of portraits, and the second half mostly of landscapes and fancy subjects. The general uniformity of subject matter is occasionally disrupted by the presence of tickets, topographical prints and other unexpected items.
Hester Grenville nee Temple, 1st Countess Temple, 2nd Viscountess Cobham (c. 1690–1752) married Richard Grenville (1679-1726) only son of Richard Grenville of Wooton-under-Barnwood by his wife and step-sister Eleanor Temple, only daughter of Sir Peter Temple, of Stanton Barry.
