Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury KG PC (1400 – 31 December 1460) was an English nobleman and magnate based in northern England who became a key supporter of the House of York during the early years of the Wars of the Roses.

Salisbury, Richard Neville, 5th earl of (1400–60). Neville was the first son of the (second) marriage of Ralph, 1st earl of Westmorland, and John of Gaunt's daughter Anne Beaufort. From 1420 to 1436 he was warden of the west march.

RICHARD NEVILLE, EARL OF SALISBURY, was the eldest son of Ralph Neville, first Earl of Westmorland, by his second wife Joan Beaufort, daughter of John of Gaunt. His brothers, Edward, first Baron Bergavenny, and William, Lord Fauconberg, are separately noticed. Richard, Duke of York, was his brother-in-law, having married his sister Cecilia.
