The Europeans were a British new wave group formed in 1981 and disbanded in 1985. They released three albums, none of which achieved much in terms of chart position. In 1989, their former keyboard player and co-lead vocalist Steve Hogarth joined Marillion as lead vocalist.
Following Steve's interview, Europeans and How We Live guitarist Colin Woore contacted me in the summer of 1999, and also offered to answer some questions for the site. This exclusive interview reveals more about what went on in the two groups, and what he has been up to more recently.
BIOGRAPHY. HOW WE LIVE comprises Steve Hogarth and Colin Woore. They make music that is melodic, romantic and eclectic. Their lyrics are a collection of true stories and true emotions made in simple human terms. Steve and Colin met for the first time on Shepperton railway station.
In 1985, Steve Hogarth and Colin Woore split to form a band on their own called How We Live. They had been writing together for the last six months of the Europeans, finding that they complemented each others writing. They are signed to CBS and start recording at Peter Gabriel's studio in Bath.
