Johannes "Jan" de Klerk, DMS (22 July 1903 – 24 January 1979) was a South African politician. He was the father of F. W. de Klerk, the last apartheid State President of South Africa. As a member of the National Party, de Klerk served as interim State President for nine days following the retirement of Jacobus Johannes Fouché in 1975.

Johannes (Jan) de Klerk. teacher, member of the National Party and Minister of Education, Art & Science, Senator and Father of former Pres. F.W. de Klerk. Johannes de Klerk was born on 22 July 1903 in Burgersdorp. He was the eldest son of Reverend Willem de Klerk and Aletta Johannes van Rooy.
F.W. de Klerk, politician who as president of South Africa (1989–94) brought the apartheid system of racial segregation to an end and negotiated a transition to majority rule in his country. He and Nelson Mandela jointly received the 1993 Nobel Prize for Peace.
