Thomas de Keyser (c. 1596–1667) was a Dutch portrait painter and a dealer in Belgium bluestone and stone mason. [1] [2] He was the most in-demand portrait painter in the Netherlands until the 1630s, when Rembrandt eclipsed him in popularity.
Thomas de Keyser (born c. 1596, Amsterdam, Neth.—buried June 7, 1667, Amsterdam) was a Dutch Baroque painter and architect, best known for his portraiture of leading civic figures in Amsterdam. He was the son of the distinguished architect and sculptor Hendrick de Keyser.
