International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Annex 13, Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation, details the international Standards and Recommended Practices (SAPRS) for the investigation of accidents and incidents, including which States may participate, and the rights and responsibilities of those States.
Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigations. The restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 Pandemic required that accident investigation authorities (AIA) conceived ways to discharge their investigation obligations called for in Annex 13 – Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation in a safe and appropriate manner.
Many accident investigations are not complete when the ACTF meets to classify the year’s events and additional facts may be uncovered during an investigation that could change the currently assigned classifications in the future. The sectors used to create the accident rates are the most up-to-date available at the time of production.
