  3. Maurice Berkeley, 1st Baron FitzHardinge. Baron FitzHardinge, of the City and County of the City of Bristol, was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 5 August 1861 for the naval commander and politician Admiral Sir Maurice Berkeley.

  4. Biography. Berkeley, whose parents were deemed by the House of Lords in 1811 not to have been legally married until eight years after his birth, had a distinguished naval career during the Napoleonic war and was commended by the duke of Wellington for his support in the Peninsular campaign.
