Christian I of Saxe-Merseburg (Dresden, 27 October 1615 – Merseburg, 18 October 1691), was the first duke of Saxe-Merseburg and a member of the House of Wettin. He was the sixth (third surviving) son of Johann Georg I, Elector of Saxony , and his second wife, Princess Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia .

August, Duke of Saxe-Merseburg-Zörbig (Merseburg, 15 February 1655 – Zörbig, 27 March 1715), was a German prince and member of the House of Wettin. He was the third but second surviving son of Christian I, Duke of Saxe-Merseburg and Christiana of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg .
To supply his three younger sons with incomes befitting a duke, Duke Christian I created apanages for his younger sons during his lifetime. Christian Ier, né à Dresde le 27 octobre 1615 et mort à Mersebourg le 18 octobre 1691, est un prince de la branche albertine de la maison de Wettin, fils cadet de l'électeur Jean-Georges Ier de Saxe et de Madeleine-Sibylle de Prusse. Il fut premier duc de Saxe-Mersebourg de 1656 jusqu'à sa mort.
