The Chilean Army (Spanish: Ejército de Chile) is the land arm of the Chilean Armed Forces. This 80,000-person army (9,200 of which are conscripts) is organized into six divisions, a special operations brigade and an air brigade.
In this context, the Chilean Army War Academy (ACAGUE) has tacitly applied the adult education model since its origins. Since those first German officers who arrived in Chile with the purpose of transmitting the Prussian model, its professors have permanently employed innovative methodologies.

Graduates of the Military Academy and NCO’s School, throughout their career, are in a constant training process, which is divided into PRIMARY and SECONDARY SPECIALTIES. Primary specialties are granted by the War Academy and the Polytechnic Academy, while secondary specialties are granted by branch and/or specialty schools.
At the end of the war Körner reentered the Artillery and Engineer School. In 1875 he was promoted to lieutenant and the following year graduated from the War Academy (Kriegsakademie). During 1877 and 1878 Körner served in Italy, Spain, and Africa.
